Glass Hair Spirals! I gave been making a lot with glass since I purchased a kiln! These are actually made with a torch and then put in the kiln. I'm totally seeing this as the new summer hair trend.

DIY Friendship bracelets

It's that time that I seriously have to buckle down and make the kids Valentine's to hand out to there class. I loved the idea of my little girl giving out friendship bracelets (yes like those seen on Pinterest) that say "Our class would KNOT be the same without you". I had been putting it off because I couldn't think of any fast and easy way to make that many bracelets. She has a big class! Then while cleaning my craft room it cam to me!!!!
I COULD JUST CHAIN STITCH THEM!

DIY Cabochon Mold and Cabochons

Don't you love that ring!? I was giving it for a gift at a recent Birthday and decided it really needed matching earrings. I found cabochons I liked and decided to make my own mold so that I could make them whenever I wanted. It was really fun and easy, you will love it!

Take a trip to your local craft store and look for the Fimo and Sculpey. I purchased this Sculpey Mold Maker pictured below and I am really happy with it.

The instructions are super easy to follow. I kneaded the clay until it was soft and then used cookie cutters to get a round shape. Next take he cabochon you already have and push it into your clay circle.

The instruction say to dust your cabochon with corn starch but I found it worked best dusting the corn starch right on the clay. Then it popped out nice and clean.

I made several molds at once.  Then you bake them following the instructions on your mold maker clay. Once they are baked (and cooled) you are ready to start making your cabochons!

In the picture above you can see the Fimo clay but I do use Sculpey clay as well. I really like the Sculpey clay for the flowers. I feel like the Sculpey clay is softer and easier to push down in the mold to fill all the little designs.

I made a bunch of pink flowers.

They pop out of your mold really easy and are ready for immediate use after you have baked them. Sometimes if you have over filled your mold you may want to gently sand the edges after it is baked.
I used E6000 glue and attached a set to earring findings  and it made the perfect jewelry set for the Birthday girl! Cabochons are great for jewelry, hair clips and paper decorating and now you can make all your own! Have fun and feel free to link in the comments to projects you make with your cabochons!

I have my own set that is a lime green with multi colored hooks and knobs but this turquoise mixed metal set and red with black and white hardware are up for sale!!!

Complete as pictured and ready to hang! They are a great accent piece and perfectly functional. Great to hang your keys, purse, wallet, coat, sunglasses, hat, umbrella, backpack, etc.

The back has a keyhole to make mounting simple.
